It sounds incredibly difficult:
15 push ups in 1 minute
15 sit ups in 1 minute
1/2 mile run in 5 minutes or less

THAT'S the PT test? OMG. That's really pretty pathetic. Most entry PRTs consist of your basic military set, mile and a half in 12, 50/50 in 2 minutes and at least most of the better departments require a dummy drag/carry. I've even taken some that required trigger pulls with both hands in so many seconds.
I'm kind of shocked Cincy is so wimpy about it.
I do believe you have to do better by the end of the academy, but it still won't be enough to tax you.
I don't have a pic of my gun, but I think I can get some done if you want to see it. Hell, I'll take the whole belt and let you see how I set mine up. Might give you some ideas for yours.

I'm seriously hoping that it IS more difficult than that.
I suspect that this initial test is to weed out the true non hackers that do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved corp....
My BIL is on the CPD violent crimes squad and he told me they do have a more stringent agility type test with carrying a 150lb dummy up four flights of stairs, a 1.5 miler, and some other stuff. It's till childs play but significantly tougher than the inital one I think.
He also said that on the dummy carry, they pair you with the person you're standing next to in line. I'm gonna make sure that I stand next to someone who looks fit rather than some dainty little girl who thinks she's tough but isn't. [img]graemlins/whatever.gif[/img]

yep Katie, time to put GS back into boot camp if he wants to catch the competition.
ickey...he can only do that for himself. He knows he has my support, but if I have a hard enough time doing it for myself...how can I make him?

I am the LEAST of GS's worries. We are both white males and therefore the process is stacked against us from the get go.
We will be competeting against quotas, lowered standards for minorities and women and probably a myriad of other obstacles we are still unaware of.
I, and I'm sure GS, will do our best and we'll see what happens.
